AI for Business: How to Use it to Multiply Your Productivity

AI for Business: How to use it to multiply your productivity

AI for business sounds daunting, but it’s offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance efficiency, creativity, and customer engagement. Using and benefiting from AI tools can be a game-changer for entrepreneurs and online business owners. AI isn’t a magic wand that will solve all your problems. However, you can take advantage of it and be more effective as a solopreneur. Let me show you how.

AI for Business Looks

If you’re a solopreneur like me, you’ll likely start your adventure with a very small budget. This means that consistency and looks might be out of the window. Well, that’s not happening anymore, thanks to our friend AI. While you need to have all the brains and know exactly what you want to do, the fact that you can have good banners (artwork) and design for a very low budget is great.

Many might argue that you’re taking away from artists. But let me tell you: when you’re starting or growing a bit, you need your budget on point!  You would never use tons of art when you start. The maximum, perhaps, would be a logo designer.

1. Enhancing Banners with DALL-E

My tool of choice for AI art is DALL-E. If you take a long look at the different pages of this platform, you’ll realize that banners are cartoonish and fresh. While I do use pictures, that’s not something I like to do often. I did in the past. However, since I can design via prompts my vision daily with DALL-E, I can offer a consistent brand to my public, which, in turn, helps me grow it.

Another advantage of using DALL-E is ChatGPT. Since they both go hand in hand, paying one gets you both. However, I found that Midjourney is better at creating realistic images. If your vibe isn’t like mine, consider exploring other AI image generators.

2. One of my Editors is AI

I use Grammarly [referral link] for editing. It helps me notice typos and weird phrases that I might write. It also helps me double-check plagiarism. This is my day-to-day editor, which I love, by the way.

However, apart from Grammarly, I choose to work with a human editor on books. Well, with my latest book. Not all my books have had the luck of having a human editor. As soon as I could afford one, I added an extra human later.

3. Brainstorming with ChatGPT

While using ChatGPT to create an article might help you save a lot of time, brainstorming is the best use you can do with it. ChatGPT can give you the best or most bland and unusable ideas. Yet, this capability of forever creating ideas for you is what we need for brainstorming.

Haven’t you ever been stuck and run out of ideas for a post? If so, ChatGPT is your friend. You need to ask it 100 ideas on a certain topic and then repeat it three more times. From all those ideas, you’ll see at least three that will catch your eye and help you generate great content.

If, however, you’re struggling with the contents of a post, you can ask ChatGPT to outline it for you. AI doesn’t know what you can say in exact terms, but it can help you by giving some order to what you could say.

4. Getting Advantage from Notion AI

Notion [affiliate link] is another tool that I adore. If you cannot afford a PA yet, Notion is your best bet! You can organize your time and maximize what you need to do. Plus, you can use Notion AI to brainstorm ideas. While it’s similar to ChatGPT, the fact that Notion AI knows what you do makes more sense to use Notion AI when organizing your tasks.

Even if you don’t use Notion AI, it is worth noting that Notion can help you massively go from disarray to hyper-organized hero.

Depepi’s AI Working Strategy

I have a very particular way of working with AI. Follow my process below and assess if you would like to do something similar.

1. Brainstorm with ChatGPT First

Take a paper and write down some post ideas or topics. Then, go to ChatGPT and ask it to give you 100 more ideas on that very topic. Then repeat it again until you have enough variations to choose the best ones.

You’ll notice some trash output from ChatGPT. But you’ll also notice very interesting ideas that you can develop and share your take on them with your audience. Only keep the ideas you want to develop at a later stage.

From the ideas that you like, you’ll need to do some research on Google to assess which keywords are best for targeting. (I’ll share more about this in my next upcoming course dedicated to marketing.)

2. Prompting DALL-E

Once you know which idea you’ll work on next, go to DALL-E and generate three different versions for the illustration. Why three different versions?

  • You should aim to learn to ask DALL-E for a similar style so you can create image consistency.
  • You should be able to choose one of the three different versions and keep the others for later. DALL-E can be funky sometimes, giving you outputs that are not cute. In those circumstances, you can always fish for an image that was done previously.

For some reason, DALL-E gets lazier at certain hours during the day. I suppose it’s due to the number of people using the service. It shouldn’t happen. But if it does, you’ll have a nice image repository ready to be used.

3. Using Grammarly While I type

Time to write your post! This is where some of you will look sideways. You’ll need to type something and write. If you don’t want to write a full post, that’s fine. However, you should write a text long enough, with guidance enough, for ChatGPT to help you make it longer.

That said, typing and having Grammarly help you as you go is a blessing—well, at least for me. Others might have a different approach, but I’m used to using Grammarly that way.

Other Practical Applications of AI for Entrepreneurs

Enough about me! What about some other practical applications you could use for using AI in your business?

1. Brainstorming Marketing Strategies

Coming up with marketing campaign ideas can be dragging sometimes. Remember that I said you could brainstorm ideas for writing content? The same can be done with brainstorming marketing ideas.

Now: some caution. Despite ChatGPT giving you some marketing ideas, it’s your job to research them and ensure that everything is on point! You might think you strike gold with an idea given by AI, only to go full on it and get crickets as a result. Using AI for business doesn’t mean that you stop doing proper research. AI can certainly help you, but you shouldn’t stop researching!

2. Improving Customer Engagement

You can also use AI to improve customer engagement. Implementing nice customer support is a must for any business, online and offline. If you want to implement a chatbot on your page, ensure it’s intelligent enough to answer as many customer issues as possible! The last thing you want to do is to add a chatbot that makes your audience nervous.

Don’t implement a chatbot on your page unless it’s top-notch. Seriously, don’t.

3. Making Sense of Analytics

You can use AI to help you make sense of analytics. Sometimes, you might get stuck staring at data and numbers and only come up with more questions. Feed the data to ChatGPT and spend some time in a conversation with it. Make sure you get the vibe of the data, and then take another look by yourself!

While ChatGPT can help you a bit, it doesn’t erase the fact that you’ll need to assess the data later yourself. As I said, AI isn’t a magic wand but can help you massively.
