Earn Money Online for Free With This Simple Idea

With this simple idea, you can start a small business with time as your only investment and earn money online for free. It’s so simple it will blow your mind! You only need to invest some of your time, be consistent, and upskill if you want to. These are the three simple steps you need to follow to take the first steps to create a business online.
1. To Earn Money Online For Free, Choose Your No.1 Skill
First, choose what you’re good at. Choose something you’re passionate about, and you can talk about endlessly. And make sure you’re solving a problem someone else has. For example, if you have kids and know tricks for making parenting a breeze and love talking about it, here’s something that can bring you moolah. Why? Because many new parents are looking for solutions to their problems online!
Let’s say you love everything Marvel and are on top of the news. You can talk about it endlessly! What do you solve? The thirst for new things and the avoidance of boredom for many fans! Get it? Good!
2. Create a Free Website With Notion
If you don’t know Notion yet, it’s the holy grail for tracking how to have more free time, organize your time, learn new things, and get your homepage for free online. I know there are many other services, but if you choose Notion and learn how it works, you can also sell templates.
You got it: to earn money online for free, you need to think creatively and combine different services to create an infrastructure that allows you to grow online. You can make a static page with Notion, but… what about a blog?
3. Create a Substack
Substack is a social platform, a newsletter service, and a blogging x podcasting dream. You can create your Substack for free and set up a paid subscription after writing for a while. It’s easy to use. Link your Substack as a “blog” in your Notion static website, share your knowledge, and help people solve issues—you’ll grow!
What Else Do You Need?
Once you know what you can talk about endlessly that offers a solution to someone, you’ll need to invest time in it. I’m not talking about the time you’ll need to create the page in Notion, but the time you’ll need to allocate to this project.
1. Dedicate 1 Hour a Week
Can you find time in your busy schedule to spend 1 hour a week to make your online business grow? I know this can be difficult, especially when you’re working a 9 to 5 and need to take care of all the chores at home, the kids, the pets, and meals… you name it! It might seem impossible, yet you’d be surprised at where our time goes sometimes.
Track your time during a week on paper or using dePepi’s Notion Template (30% off until January 2025, just for you) and change your life. Literally. (You can also track calories!) If you want to see where your time and money go and be aware of how much you give away, here’s how you can change the game!
You will see where to allocate time and how many hours a week. Once you are aware of your time and are adamant about pursuing this, you’ll need the next step.
2. Be Constant, aka Create an Atomic Habit
dePepi’s Notion Template can help you create atomic habits. It’s okay if you miss a week or two. The trick is to be constant. If you decide to write a post on Substack each week, keep your promise. Is it better to do it once every two weeks? Then, do it once every two weeks. Going on a holiday? Tell people you’ll be on holiday and when you’ll be back, so they’ll know.
You’re not only writing a blog on Substack to make some cash. You’re also creating a community that will follow what you share with them. Why? Because you’ll be giving them helpful information they can use! You’re solving a problem. You’re creating a connection with them.
To cultivate a good relationship, you need to be constant and friendly. This means being authentic and telling them if you can’t be there.
3. Start Small
To earn money online for free, you need to start small and then plan to grow. Get your foundation right and start building a following with Notion and Substack. Once you’re comfy with that, invest in your education. For example, if you need to know more about online business, you can join my course (or any other course you might be interested in, not necessarily mine). You might need, at some point, to know more about branding and marketing online. Again, you can join me here next month or choose another venue. The most important thing is to upskill!
As you grow, you’ll need to know more about the ropes and maybe things you can’t think of right now. However, don’t try to do everything at once! You can end up burning out. Go step by step, steady, and open your mind to investing in yourself and creating a winning infrastructure. And you can do that right now at “time investment.”
Expand Your Comfort Zone
Great! You love the idea of having a Notion home page and a Substack blog. However, if you start doubting yourself, don’t worry: it’s normal. I’ve been there! The good thing about comfort zones is that they can expand. When we say “go out of your comfort zone” (one or two steps out), it doesn’t mean you will never return to your sofa! That’s why starting small is great. You give yourself time to get comfortable expanding your sofa while creating something you can be proud of.
You can do a lot more than you give yourself credit for!
