Superhero Movies to enjoy during 2018
Instead of just making a list of the movies we can enjoy during 2018, I decided to write different posts. We start with Superhero movies. Next year seems to be the golden age of Superheroes on the big screen. The big two are in a creative war that will bring many Superheroes and Super Villains to life. However, there’s the risk that we’ll get fed up with so many action. (I doubt it.)
Marvel’s Black Panther hits the theaters on February 2018. T’Challa was a badass add to Captain America: Civil War. But now we get to know him and his country, Wakanda. The costumes are amazing, but the cast of this movie is even more staggering. Take a look at the teaser trailer!
Lupita Nyong’o plays T’Challa’s former lover and Dora Milaji operative Nakia. We also get to enjoy Martin Freeman (hey Bilbo) and Forest Whitaker.
Fox’s The New Mutants will be in cinemas on April 2018. It’s based on The New Mutants comic focused on younger mutant students. Welcome to horror at Superhero movies. This is a type of Superhero movie that can certainly end up chilling my dreams. I’m not so sure I’ll end up in the theater, but I’m seriously considering it. [I’m not a fan of horror, but I am a fan of Superhero movies. It’s obviously hard to decide!]
Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War will also hit the big screen on April 2018. We left Thor and Loki facing a huge menacing spaceship in Thor Ragnarok. Thanks to the teaser trailer we know that things are pretty messed up, to the point that Loki will play trickster, and Earth will face evil incarnate. Beware and behold, because Thanos is coming to town!
Fox’s Deadpool 2 arrives on June 2018. He’s crazy, he has a rancid humor, and he cracks villains. You have no choice but to love Deadpool. This second movie promises to be crazier than the first one. I’ll prepare tissues for the number of tears of laughter I’ll share with the rest of the audience.
Disney’s The Incredibles 2 also arrives on June 2018. I still remember that one of the worst things that a Superhero can do is to add a cape to their wardrobe. I enjoyed the first film so much that I would be crazy not to watch the second one.
Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp arrives on July 2018. This sequel has Walton Goggins as the villain, Laurence Fishburne as an old Pym’s friend, and Michelle Pfeiffer as the original Wasp. She is supposed to be forever shrinking in the Quantum Realm. Hope will become the Wasp, and I’m pretty sure we’ll end up laughing a lot with their adventures.
Sony’s Venom will be released on October 2018. This movie is set in the MCU, but it doesn’t crossover with it. Here, Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock) joins the Venom symbiote. Expect something dark here, because we’re talking about Venom.
Fox’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix arrives on November 2018. This movie will take place soon after X-Men Apocalypse. We’ll see Jean Grey having problems with her Dark Phoenix identity. The villain is no other than Jessica Chastain. I bet that the movie is going to be flashy.
Sony’s Animated Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse will be with us on December 2018. Miles Morales will be going up and down in town! Even if it’s just the animated movie, I’m super happy. Miles Morales is one of my favorite spiders. I also love Spider-Gwen and Silk. I just hope that we get to enjoy more than one of them in this movie, even if it’s just for a short time.
DC’s Aquaman also arrives on December 2018. The film is directed by James Wan. Thanks to Jason Momoa, Aquaman is cool again. He’s the half-human son of the queen of Atlantis, Nicole Kidman. We’ve already seen during the Justice League that he is cranky at best. He also drinks a lot and seems to have too many issues. I’ll give this an opportunity. Let’s say that Momoa convinced me.
