Let’s do the planning for 2017, shall we?

We’re at that dreadful moment of the year when we have to do the planning for 2017. Let’s face it, we all start the new year with good intentions but abandon them somewhere around February. Despite the odds, I intend to follow “the plan.” Plan is a much better word than resolution. Or so it seems according to all dictionaries that I’ve checked. Planning involves a stronger commitment than the poor resolution wishes that go out from our mouths at the beginning of the year. But fear not, 2017 intends to be different, and so we shall plan accordingly.

My evil plots for world domination shall come into fruition during 2017. Oh, wait! These are the plans for the blog, not my personal most darkest desires! Excuse me, hang on a second. Oh yes, here they are!

Reading is sin

Reading is a pleasure, and thus, it must be sinful to be seated around and reading something comfortable while having spasms of extasis. Nope, I don’t intend to embark myself in reading more fan fiction than I use to, but I intend to read more devilish and magical deeds. For starters, I intend to re-read all Harry Potter in its original version. Fate must have it, I read the US-version instead. It must have been my location in the globe and my poor choice of covers when I first purchased the books. However, since I’m in the land of the Queen, I decided to buy a new edition of the books.

I don’t intend to embark myself on a quest to find out the differences between the US and the UK versions. However, visually talking I must admit that the covers are quite different. Even if I find the covers compelling, my review of the books will be less superficial, thank you very much.

Also, in order to erase all memories connected to the show Shadowhunters, I decided to read the books. Unfortunately, the show had me in tears. The show is like cutting onions: you keep cutting them despite the excruciating pain and tears that follow the act of enduring them. I’m not sure what took hold of me when I decided to endure the show. Fortunately, my plan to redeem myself reading the books looks promising. Although fate is laughing at me already: I ordered them online, all of them with the same cover design style. Unfortunately, some devils decided to send me unmatching styles so I can remember the onion feeling every time I see the books on my shelf!

I intend to keep up with The Shannara Chronicles. This mammoth undertaking has a little catch: hunting all the books seems to be tricky. Although it might take me more time that I first envisioned, I intend to read them all and bind them into darkness. I know they don’t belong to any fellowship of the ring, however the similarities are stricking. Or at least, that’s the issue with the Sword of Shannara.

Oh dear! In despair already, dear reader? Fear not, since books are not the only sin to be read and reviewed here. Expect lots of comic-centered posts on this blog. Expect Gwenpool, Gamora, Iron Man, Vikings and many other titles.

Watching is also a sin!

Or dear I say, binge-watchin is also a sin? My addiction to Netflix is wellknown at home, and so I intend to share it further with you during this year. Although I might torture you a bit with OUAT, Lucifer and Vikings, I bet I will end up finding other interesting shows as well. It seems that, bloggers need to share their addictions with others in order to make mates fall into temptation. Who am I to break such a golden rule?

Since I also intend to hit the cinema, expect some more reviews of films appearing here. However, the type of movies that will have the honor of appearing on this blog are pretty reduced due to the genres I love. Fantasy, science fiction and Superheroes have the door open. Exceptions might apply.

Studying Geek Culture is obviously a sin

Anthropological endeavors are also a key aspect of this blog. And so, I shall continue torturing experts and non-believers with posts and surprising discoveries. Despite common belief, most anthropologists don’t dress like Indiana Jones nor end up fighting Nazis to salvage devices from ancient times. Even if you can do so in video games, the magic now resides in discovering geek cultures at Cons and local comic book stores.

Shows and comic books shall be my source of study, as well as the natives attracted to them. Although I admit it’s hard to detatch my brain from fangirling, I shall provide you with the my most objective writings. Errors might occur, but they shall be minimal.

Including any other worthy sins

I shall also include any other worthy sins on the blog. These might include opinions, personal endeavors and other geeky activities. In short, anything connected with the above and myself shall be worthy of your eyes and intellect. Plus, I intend to add some surprises to the pot, if my energies and geek vibes allow me to do so.

As you see, my sinful plans for this blog during 2017 are pretty simple. And yet, we must agree that they’re quite compelling. I hope that you’ll enjoy the ride and join me in the pleasures of reading, watching, discovering and sharing.
