Funko Friday: my Funko Cumberpop collection
This Funko Friday I want to show you my small Funko Cumberpop collection. Both Sherlock and Doctor Strange are hot potatoes at the moment. And so, I decided to show my Cumberpop collection. It only consists in three Cumberpops, but they’re adorable. I have one Sherlock and two Doctor Strange. I didn’t start collecting Cumberpops on purpose. This just happened: Cumberbatch just happens to be Sherlock and Doctor Strange. So, I ended up with a small collection of Cumberpops.
Unbelievable but true, I do have other celebs Pops in my collection. Hiddleston and Hemsworth are the ones with more Pops in my collection. However, I didn’t realize about this since a friend pointed out the obvious: oh, you have many Toms in your collection. Why?
Well, there’s no reason whatsoever. It just happened in all the cases of different pops who happen to be different characters portrayed by the same person. I know that other collectors like to collect pops in this fashion on purpose. But, it just happened in my case.
The first Cumberpop I ever owned was Sherlock. I chose the regular version of him to fit with Watson. Sherlock happens to have too many versions, and poor Watson only one. So, I decided to have both pops with matching styles.
Then came Doctor Strange: full color and this week, meditating one thanks to Marvel Corps. I don’t think I’ll be collecting more Cumberstrange pops. However, I won’t say that out loud too quickly. Christmas is around the corner, and I don’t know what presents will be.
It’s both a good idea and a bad one to give me pops as present. It’s a good idea because you know I collect these cute figurines. However, it’s also a bad idea since I haven’t published my whole collection yet. Besides, I’m picky with pops. You could end up giving me one I don’t care about at all.
If you’re planning to give a Pop as a present to a friend who collects these figurines, be sure to know what’s in their collection and what pre-orders they did. Don’t just buy any pop unless they like the character or the celeb.
