Geek Girl Brunch Brighton: Harry Potter’s first Brunch was a blast! (+ Giveaway)

Geek Girl Brunch Brighton Harry Potter’s first Brunch was a blast! Despite the morning rain and all the inclement weather all brunchettes came to have fun! We chose one of my favorite venues in Brighton to eat: Cafe Noor. Cafe Noor is an Armenian coffee shop and restaurant that offers incredibly delicious food and nice vibes. It’s a perfect place for geeky meetups and to just study. I go there a lot to take my morning coffee, read and prepare my next book. (Did I say, next book? Yup! I’m writing a new one!) So, we met at 12 pm, and we started our day with… coffee! I know that other Chapters are all about cocktails, but after Brexit, coffee was mandatory. Unfortunately, Brexit was the first topic we talked about, not Harry Potter. In essence, we were devastated, and we wished Brighton could become a city-state like Monaco.

And so, after eating delicious food, we starting the fun part: geeky games! Our topic was one of the best fandoms ever: Harry Potter! The whole world loves Harry Potter (except the weather), and so we started with the Trivial Pursuit. If you don’t have it, let me tell you: the purple color is deadly. All questions from the other colors were okay, but purple was so difficult we all were wishing no purple would appear on our way! Why? Because all of us wanted the goodies!

After Trivial Pursuit we played Destination. This second game was so much fun! We had to arrive at our destinations (secret ones) and gather as many points (or money) as we could. After a while, we exhausted all the destinations, and we got our winners! And after the games, we paid a visit to the local comic book store. (I think that the guys think I live in there already. Coff, coff). Brighton’s local comic book store is tiny, but it has almost whatever you want! And if you love Superhero comics, the second floor is going to be your Haven. Dave’s is one of my favorite places here. And so, no wonder, I bought two comics. [The dangers of comic book stores and bookstores: if I go in, I end up buying something.]

And after that, we decided to go to the cinema to see Independence Day Resurgent. Why end up with all the fun? I must admit that the movie was pleasant, and I won’t spoil it for you, but it was rad! Specially when you discover that Data has a very long and disturbing hair. I won’t spoil anything else for you. You’ve got one of the Hemsworth in it, so you better watch it!

And, if you’re in Brighton and go out of the cinema, and want to return home, the most likelihood is that you’ll meet Iron Man. Let me tell you: there was no event whatsoever related to anything geeky on Saturday, only the bad taste of Brexit on the air. And yet, there he was: Iron Man, standing on a corner being photographed. And so, we approached him and took pictures and asked him: what’s up?

Well, a birthday party! It seems that the friend lot decided to dress as the Avengers and have some pints in a pub. What a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday! (Yup, naughty ideas inside my head for next year! Loki ideas, many Loki ideas!) And after all the good vibes from Iron Man, we had yet another stop: a pub. Mind you, if ou like in the UK you have to hit the pub sooner or later when you’re having fun: it’s mandatory!

And so, we had a san-ji-kai. In Japanese, after a main event, people have the second meeting (ni-ji-kai). But we arrived at the third meeting. I suppose this is a bad Hobbit influence: you start with second breakfast and end up with third meetings!
