X-Men Apocalypse Review & Giveaway

I went to see X-Men Apocalypse this Monday, and since I got two small posters, I thought that I would do a review and also a giveaway with them. I usually go to Marvel movies rocking some Marvel fashion. Since this was an X-Men movie, I decided to go with my X-Men cardigan! [I also have a Storm super cool tee, but it was chilly, and since I love many of the characters, I decided to rock the cardigan.] I loved the movie despite having a very mono-dimensional villain. Apocalypse was too plain, but the whole movie was fantastic. [You know I am super picky with how villains are crafted. Depending on how good Villains are, so Superheroes will shine more.] However, we do find someone excelling his part: Magneto! Professor X and Magneto have a very special relationship, and so does Mystique. Thanks to these three characters, I’d say that the movie overcomes the mono-dimensional Apocalypse.

[SPOILER ALERT: if you haven’t seen the movie yet, please refrain from reading more about the review. At the end of the post you’ll find the widget to take part in the posters giveaway.]

Things that I loved about the movie: Quicksilver, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, Professor-X. I loved the dynamics between Charles and Beast. Not only we had funny moments, but we also had a view of how close they are.

We’re so used to see Mystique as the Villain, that when we see her as the hero, or rather, as the anti-hero she is, we might get surprised feelings. However, I liked how this movie turned Mystique in an involuntary hero: she happens to be a mutant who is considered to be great by her peers. In fact, Storm wants to be like her. The funny thing is that we find Storm siding with the villain due to her lack of experience.

As well as we can enjoy comedy within the movie, shocking moments, and lots of action, we can also understand more of Magneto. His story is heartbreaking. He is capable of good, but circumstances in life made him hate and destroy (or wanting to kill) non-mutants. I won’t spoil you anything here, just tell you that you better go to the cinema with lots of tissues, because Magneto’s story is going to make you have all the feels in the Universe!

All in all, this movie was amazing. Again, Apocalypse was mono-dimensional, but also, what can you ask from a Mutant who thinks he’s a god and who has been sleeping for thousands of years? Not much. However, he did us a favor: he got rid of all offensive nuclear armament around the world. It’s obvious he did it to protect himself, but he left humanity with fewer possibilities to annihilate one another. In that sense, he was cool.

What do you think about the movie?
