Fandom Friday: 5 Favorite Things About Autumn
This week’s Fandom Friday is cool! We need to write a list of five favorite things about autumn. First, I have to admit that autumn is one of my two favorite seasons. Why? It’s obvious: Halloween!!! Who doesn’t like pumpkin soup, carving pumpkins and having fun all over Halloween!? Spooky times that are great! The best time of the year to Cosplay your favorite spooky characters! So, let’s start with pumpkins!!
1. Samhain!!
Samhain, or if you prefer, Halloween! Samhain is usually celebrated around the sunset on October 31 and November 1. One of the good parts of it is preparation. You get to decorate your home in a very especial funny way. But it can be a serious time as well: you clean yourself. It’s a time to say goodbye to stuff that you are attached to, but it’s bugging you, and prepare for being reborn again (in Yule).
2. Supernatural Premieres!!!
You couldn’t have Autumn without Supernatural Premieres! And, as Crowley states: Holy Mother Of Sin! Fall without Supernatural is already unthinkable! So, yes, in a season where ghosts, vampires and zombies run amok, you need to have some Supernatural episodes around. So, starting Autumn with the Winchesters, Cas, and Crowley is paramount.
3. Apples!
Apples in several different shapes: as row fruits, as apple pies, etc. Since I am going the sugar-free way, this time I’ll try to bake the apple pies at home, with no sugar and sweet apples… Have no clue how this is going to turn out, but as long as it has apples, it’s going to be fine (I guess). So, during autumn you could say that I turn out to be a type of Dean (LOL).
4. Pumpkins!
I love anything that has pumpkin in it! So, any foods with pumpkin in the menu are for me! Yay! If you get to carve lots of pumpkins, be sure that you can have pumpkin soup for almost all the season! I love pumpkin soup too much! The top of tops during Autumn. Buy some pumpkins, carve a Darth Vader on them, and make lots of soup. This is an awesome plan!
5. Scarves and Beanies.
Scarves and Beanies! Who doesn’t love them! In fact, I have a great collection of scarves. It’s cool when you get to do a fashion show à la Sherlock to enter into a place. Look at the gif. Isn’t that cool? And beanies! You start getting into the comfy, warm fashion. Oh and the fluffy pajamas are also great. But scarves and beanies win. So cool!!
Special Mentions
Rain! I love rain during Autumn. Why? Because is the best time to stay at home, take a coffee or tea, and stay indoors just listening to the rain fall and relaxing. Plus, is if you end up taking a nap, it’s just Heaven!
I also love reading books in Autumn afternoons, on a sofa, with tea. It also works in a coffee shop. You’re in a cozy place, you have your scarf on, or perhaps just long sleeves. And the sky has those particular Autumn colors outside. And you read your book while being warm. Relaxing and perfect to enter into imaginary worlds. Don’t you agree?
